Every EA function eventually faces the same question from the CFO or CIO: "How much value does our Enterprise Architecture function creates ?" Roadmaps and diagrams don't answer it — numbers do. EA Value Tracker turns Turbo EA's Architecture Decision Records into an auditable financial ledger of the value your EA practice creates, so the answer is one dashboard, not a scramble through spreadsheets before the budget review.
Value is claimed where it originates: on the decision. While an ADR is being drafted, architects attach categorized savings claims — hard savings, soft savings, cost avoidance, revenue enablement, risk avoidance — each with an amount in your workspace currency, a fiscal year, a one-time or annual run-rate classification, and the people responsible. When the decision is signed, the claims are approved and frozen with it: the figures your signatories endorsed can never drift afterwards (changing them takes a formal revision), which is exactly the property a finance audience expects.
Claiming is a forecast; EA Value Tracker also tracks what actually happened. Against each approved claim, realized value is recorded and approved four-eyes: the recorder designates a different person as approver, only that person can approve or reject the figure, the decision lands as a to-do on their list, and every rejection and correction is kept for audit. The result is a clean claimed-to-realized funnel — Claimed (draft) → Claimed (approved) → Realized (pending) → Realized (approved) — that distinguishes what architecture promised from what it verifiably delivered.
The EA Value Tracker dashboard under Reports rolls it all up for the executive conversation: KPI tiles (verified value, all-time, run-rate, drafts, contributing decisions), a category breakdown, value per responsible person, and a multi-year fiscal trend — all scoped to a fiscal year of your choice and switchable between the claims and realized basis. A per-entry ledger links every number back to the decision that produced it, the decisions grids gain native Claimed, Realized, and Approver columns, and the whole dashboard exports to PowerPoint for the steering committee.
Requires Turbo EA ≥ 2.14.0. Value data is stored in your instance, survives updates and license changes, and is never deleted.
